Sara Schaefer is Obsessed With You

Sara hosts a late night talk show celebrating personal and cultural obsessions, delivered from the partitions of a cubicle. Her guests include celebrities, emerging musical artists, and office coworkers. Each show also features an actor who has played a role on the ubiquitous Law & Order series (whether the role was a dead body or a recurring character), complete with video clips and star-treatment interviews.

Sara recently won an Emerging Comics of New York Award for her work on the show. Past guests have included Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee, Dana Snyder, voice of Master Shake from Adult Swim’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Andy Borowitz, Steve Burns, Judah Friedlander, Jessi Klein, Todd Barry, Marc Maron and Jonathan Ames.

Amanda Melson, Dan McCoy, Patrick Stubbins, and Kara Lee Burk write for the show with Sara.  Erik Marcisak co-produces and directs the show.

Jenny

This long form improv group performs Armando Diaz's Evente.  Armando Diaz directs the group, which is currently on hiatus.

Saturday Night Rewritten

Sara is one of the writers for this unique sketch show.  Juvie Hall’s brightest writers and performers jump off last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live and, whether in tribute or rebellion, or both, craft an entirely new show by Sunday night.  The resulting show is based loosely on SNL’s structure, but by no means limited to its content – the AK kids mine the episode for inspiration and combine sketch, improv, and a tight deadline to create a truly unique and fun show.

Recently, SNR was selected to perform at the Bass Red Triangle Comedy Festival 2004, and had an excellent article in The Daily News.

Lowitt & Schaefer

Sara worked with Adam Lowitt in this sketch comedy duo performing at all the big comedy theatres in New York City.
